Generally speaking, this is a fully automated site - well, almost! And therefore, it's necessary that you please spare a few minutes to go through the text posted in this page - to understand how it works, how to post (and then, Edit, whenever required) information, take part in the Discussion Forum, Upload Photographs to the Album etc.

HOW TO SEARCH:
Searching Process is really very simple as you may have noticed on the home page (or at the Search Page).
You can find information about your batch-mates by -
- Searching by the Roll Number (On the Home Page - this is the Only option available - other search terms can be found on the Search page)
- Searching by Name (this may or may not bring up a result - depending on the way you spell the name & that entered in the database)
- Search by DMET Nick Name. (For instance, you can search for "Peggy" - that should bring up all about Sujoy Guha in the Results page)
- Search by Location - don't be too specific - it would be a country-wise result - i.e. India, Hong Kong, USA & such.
- OR - Click on the Live Data link on the Search Page - which will bring about a results page with List of all those who have posted information to this Website, so far.
HOW TO REGISTER & POST INFORMATION:
When you click on the Register link, you'll arrive at the Forms Page. Fill up the information then click on the "Add Record" button just once. Wait for a few seconds & you should see a Submission Confirmation Message (Servers do fail - so if you are terribly un-lucky, you just may have to do it all over again!!!) Simple & Easy!!
Once the information has been submitted, it goes into a temporary database. It's then the Site Administrator's responsibility to release the info to Main database - then on - it's searchable by all as well as editable by the owner (you). We made it this way so that un-wanted OR un-authorised people don't add information to database just for the fun of it! In any case, this should be done within 24 hours
The top most field (box) in the Registration form is a field called "Password". Please decide on a 6 ~ 12 character (NO Special Characters please - meaning ONLY a-z, A-Z, 0-9 combination STARTING with an Alphabet) alpha-numeric password that you can remember (Ideally - you should write it down some where). This Password will be required when you intend to modify the information you initially posted (it could be as simple as your address OR as complex as having another child!!).
If you do not wish to disclose your E-mail & want a Mail forwarder instead (e.g. 1617@dmet1973.com OR kamran_d@dmet1973.com OR peggy@dmet1973.com OR whatever else you wish) - please contact Admin & a Mail forwarder can be set up for you (Available to first 25 Members who request). Mail sent to any such "Alias" can be forwarded to ANY valid POP3 Mail box (But NOT to Hotmail type webmail accounts). Just let us know a "preferred name" AND your POP3 E-mail address.
Finally, please remember, all fields marked with Red Asterisks * must be filled up.
HOW TO EDIT ACCOUNT & POSTED INFORMATION:
Similar to what you did while Posting Information for the first time, go to the Members Area & the Select the Edit Account Info link, you'll arrive at a Page with just two fields/boxes - that of your Password AND Roll Number. Enter the Password you had created while signing up & your Roll Number & then Click on the "Search for Your Record to Edit" button. You'll then see the Results page for the Record you wish to edit - this page WILL HAVE AN "EDIT" BUTTON RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM. Click on this EDIT button to be taken to the Edit Account/Information forms page. Edit whatever you want & Click on the "Edit Record" button - but remember, it WILL NOT GO THROUGH unless you enter your Password Correctly. The database will be updated instantly & automatically, provided you have given the correct password.
HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOGRAPHS:
This is probably the only function that is not automated - again, done on purpose! In fact, this is completely manual.
Here's what you need to do:
- There's provision for posting Two photographs.
- If you have scanned in photographs, just attach them to an E-mail to Shivaji "Bhaloo" Basu and he'll do the needful.
- Or if you do not have access to a scanner, send the photographs by Mail to Bhaloo - he's at:

HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPHS TO THE ALBUM:
This has now been Fully Automated! You can access the Photo Uploading Utility through the Members Area.
The process has been discussed in details in that particular page - therefore, we aren't going to go over that again here. But just remember, you can only upload .jpg or .gif format photographs - i.e. the photo File names can have either of these two extensions only.
